Context

GVB provides public passenger transport in Amsterdam. Robust and reliable IT services are crucial for delivering this service. This requires a solid foundation: the data center, network, and workplace systems must be able to support business applications effectively for users. Within GVB, there was a need for greater balance in this foundation and further professionalization of the IT organization. QA Consulting was asked to support this effort.

Approach

In collaboration with the CIO, CTO, and procurement, QA Consulting mapped out the IT landscape and developed a strategy to tender the required services in separate lots. After internal decision-making, several European tenders were launched, and enhancements to the governance organization were implemented to support the chosen structure.

Result

GVB ultimately secured six contracts with product and service suppliers, along with strengthened governance measures.
