Context
IT is becoming increasingly important for Erasmus University, directly influencing the quality of education, the effectiveness of researchers, and the efficiency of operations. To strengthen IT competencies and the associated roles and responsibilities, QA Consulting was asked to develop an IT transition plan that would provide guidance across the areas of organization, people, processes, and technology.
Approach
Commissioned by the CIO office of Erasmus University, QA Consulting worked closely with stakeholders to develop the IT transition plan. The plan included objectives, the impact on organization, staff, and technology, a roadmap, timeframes, financial and capacity consequences, and a risk analysis.
Result
QA Consulting created awareness and understanding of the competencies needed for a successful transition and provided insight into the steps required to acquire these skills at Erasmus University. The necessary growth steps for structuring the IT organization were also made transparent.
