Context
The world is rapidly changing, and the security situation around us is deteriorating. The Dutch Ministry of Defense needs greater adaptability, speed, and combat capability. By 2035, Defense aims to be a technologically advanced armed force, driven by information in both operations and organization. Achieving this vision required clear choices regarding IT, investments, operations, and personnel policy. QA Consulting, among others, was asked to develop strategic scenarios to help shape this vision.
Approach
To address these questions, a series of externally validated studies was conducted in collaboration with Defense, Capgemini, Deloitte, and QA Consulting. Based on the required changes, QA Consulting developed several strategic scenarios outlining how the Defense Vision 2035 could be realized, including the implications for the IT landscape, IT investments and operational costs, and the impact on personnel.
Result
The reports were made public and served as the foundation for the coalition agreement.
